Description of the Defect:
The electronic taillight module harness might not be fused to the proper current, and the harness connection to the electronic taillight module might not have a watertight seal, which could allow water intrusion.
Safety Risk:
Water in the connection could cause a short circuit between the connector pins. Without adequate circuit protection, a short circuit between pins could create a risk of a thermal event or a fire, resulting in serious injury or death.

Corrective measures and Remedy:
Inspect for an electronic taillight module. If installed, the owner will confirm that the inline circuit protection has been installed and that its rating is correct. If the circuit protection is not within the circuit’s specifications, Altec will provide a kit to update the circuit.
Precautions that may be taken to minimize the risk until the corrective measures are complete:
